The morning of the Orientation will cover the core components for teaching successfully at VIU. The two afternoon sessions give you options to choose from to enhance your experience (please sign up for those separately in InVIU as per the other listings for this day). What are the benefits of participating in the New Faculty Orientation to Teaching at VIU? Concrete ideas for: Making the most of the first day of class Designing classroom activities that challenge students to think critically Engaging your students in productive discussions Interactions with new colleagues on the culture of teaching and learning at VIU Learning about teaching resources, and technologies available to VIU instructors A light breakfast and lunch will be included.
