For this event, we will continue our work from the last session editing and improving Wikipedia content focused on notable women and tackle improving articles based on local places, people, and events in Nanaimo. Whether you have edited Wikipedia in the past or not, join us for this event which includes basic editing training for new editors, and a chance to make your first edit. This is hands-on and social event, which will cover the basics of editing Wikipedia, connect you with a community of editors, and allow you to contribute to this significant global collaborative knowledge project. Since its creation in 2001, Wikipedia has grown rapidly into one of the largest reference websites, attracting 374 million unique visitors monthly as of September 2015.
