Adding the VIULearn Student Orientation to a Course

Adding the VIULearn Student Orientation to a Course

The new VIULearn student orientation modules can be retrieved and placed into your course without needing to wait for the Centre staff. These instructions will show you how to create either a dynamic link to or a copy of the material in any or all of your courses. You will be able to choose which modules you load into your course.

Dynamically linked content will automatically update for you, so once you have loaded it into your course you will always have access to the most up to date materials. This means you do not need to request updated content year-to-year. You are not able to edit or customize the content on dynamically linked pages.

Copied content creates an editable copy of the materials in your course. If you want to be able to edit the content on each page of the course, then you will need to copy it. Copied content does not retain a dynamic link, but you can re-copy the materials at any time.

Given the feedback we received in previous years, we have not included the practice activities (submission folder, quiz, or discussion), announcements, or grade items in this new package. If you require these items, please contact the Centre for Innovation and Excellence in Learning at and let us know.
