Importing Course Components

You can use the import function of the Import / Export / Copy Components Tool to import a course backup. You can also import materials from other Learning Management Systems or Tools. You can also use the following steps to import content packages into your course by yourself:

  1. Choose Faculty Tools and Course Admin from the course navigation bar.
  2. Select Import/Export/Copy Components and then choose Import Components
  3. Choose Start. 
  4. Select the package you wish to import.Choose Import All Components
  5. VIULearn will process and read your package.
  6. If package is compatible, you will see two green check marks. Choose Continue.
  • If the package is not compatible, you will see a red "X". You will still choose Continue, but it will take you back to the Import / Export / Copy Components screen.
  • You will see some import options. Choose the options that are appropriate for your package.
  • Choose Continue.
  • Confirm your choices and choose Continue again.
  • VIULearn will process and import your materials. Depending on the size of your package this can take some time, so please be patient.
  • Choose Continue.
  • You will get a message letting you know your import was successful.
  • Choose View Content to review the imported files. They will be added to the bottom of your Table of Contents, and can be moved from there.
