We are looking for anyone interested in sharing and discussing their most effective, most versatile or just all-around favourite teaching activities. We are going to start this series at the Nanaimo campus for this semester -- and build out across Powell River and Cowichan campuses in future terms.
Presenters can be any teaching faculty member interested in giving a 10-15 minute overview of a teaching and learning activity. Consider bringing your students to share their perspectives and experiences. VIU campus community members will be invited to listen and learn about the excellent work going on across all campuses.
During each session we will have two presentations and time for discussion. We would like to offer a relaxed, informal space for our community to come together, share their ideas, and be inspired. Written summaries and sharable resources will be made available for those who are unable to attend.
If you are interested in sharing your experiences in this series, or would like to nominate a colleague, please email Kathleen Bortolin and Liesel Knaack at the Centre for Innovation and Excellence and Learning to express interest. We are offering the Nanaimo campus sessions on the following dates listed below. When contacting us, please indicate your preferred time spot(s) and topic. We look forward to hearing from you!
For those interested in attending one of these sessions, we’ll advertise when we have a topic and date confirmed.
