You can upload and add a variety of content files to your VIUBlog site. When adding files to a Post or Page, users will be able to view the file by downloading and opening it on their device.
Any content uploaded, embedded, or linked to on VIUBlogs is subject to Canadian copyright law. Please ensure that your content is either appropriately licensed, falls under Fair Dealing, or is your own. Ensure you have the license or permission to publish the content online, or ensure that the site and/or content is password protected and only accessible to your students. Please make sure to advise your students of appropriate use and sharing of copyright protected content.

The following file formats can be uploaded to VIUBlogs as long as they are under 10 MB in size:

If you would like to add files to VIUBlogs, you can do so one of two ways. You can upload multiple files at once to your site by uploading them to your Media Library. You will then be able to insert those files into your Posts/Pages as needed. Alternatively, you can upload your files individually by navigating to the Post/Page and uploading the file to a File block.
- From the Dashboard of your VIUBlog site, click Media.
- Click the Add New button.
- Drag and drop the file(s) you wish to add to your Media Library into the upload field. Alternatively, click the Select Files button and find and select the file(s) you wish to upload.
- Your files will begin to upload.
- In the Post/Page editing screen, click the Add Block button.
- Type and select File in the Search for a block field.
- Click the Upload button to find and upload a file from your device. Alternatively, if you have already uploaded the file to your site, click the Media Library button to find and select the file from your Media Library.
- Your file will be added to your VIUBlog Post/Page as a downloadable attachment. When users visit your site, they will be able to download and view the file by clicking the Download button.
