When creating posts and pages in VIUBlogs, you will be given the option to set the visibility on that post or page.
- Public: available to everyone who has access to your site. If your site is restricted to members of the site or network, this includes public posts and pages.
- Private: only site administrations and editors of your site can view that post or page.
- Password protected: anyone who visits the page or post must enter the password to see the content. Site administrators and editors can see the content without entering a password. Just like with public pages, only thos who can see your site will be able to have the opportunity to enter the password to see your content.
Password protect a page or post
- In the dashboard of your VIUBlog site, click either the Posts or Pages tab in the navigation sidebar.
- Click on the post or page you wish to add a password to. Alternatively, you can create a new post or page by clicking the Add New button.
- On the post tab of the side bar, click on the status (may show draft, published, pending, private, or scheduled depending on the current status of the post or page).
- Check the box for password protected and enter the password in the box below
- Once you have finished, click the Save Draft or Publish button to save your changes.
