In VIULearn, you can choose an assignment type. There are two different assignment types; individual assignments and group assignments.
Individual assignment folders keep student work separated. Students can only see the file they submitted and any feedback you give on that assignment.
Group assignment folders are shared by members of the group. Any files uploaded to a group assignment folder can be seen by all group members. Group members share a grade and feedback.
Set up a group assignment
To set up a group assignment submission folders, you must first Create a category in the Groups tool.
Please note: Once students have submitted to a assignment submission folder, you will not be able to edit or change the assignment type.
- Click Assessment and then Assignments from the course navigation bar.
- Click the blue New Assignment button.
- Give your Assignment Submission folder a name.
- Click the Submission & Completion tab.
- Click the checkbox next to the Group Assignment heading.
- Select the Group Category from the input field provided.
- Edit any other settings necessary.
- Once you have finished editing, click the blue Save and Close button.
