What is Quick Eval?
Quick Eval is a centralized location where you can see and access student submissions to assignments, quizzes, and graded discussions from a single portal. Quick eval can be accessed at the Organization level from your My Home page to see submissions for all of the courses where you are an instructor or from your Course Home to see submissions for only that course.
This overview video walks through the Quick Eval widget on the Course Home page and shows you how to access, hide, and assess activities using Quick Eval.
Assess Activities through Quick Eval
Quick Eval allows you to see assignments, quizzes, and assessed discussions that have not yet been graded. You can access the ungraded submissions to an activity by clicking on that activity in the Quick Eval widget on your course homepage.
If you open the Quick Eval tool from My Home or by clicking View All Activities on the Quick Eval widget on your course home, you can choose to either access ungraded activities, or assess all students.
Once you begin assessing, you will be taken to the tool (Assignments, Quizzes, or Discussions) and assess the same way you would if you opened your assessment from that tool. The only difference in the interface is that you will have a “Back to Quick Eval” option in the upper left that allows you to return to the Quick Eval dashboard when you’re done with your assessments.
Publish All Feedback for an Activity
If you have drafted feedback for students while assessing and are ready to publish this feedback for all of your students, you can do that from the Quick Eval dashboard.
- Open the Quick Eval dashboard either by clicking Quick Eval on the navigation bar on My Home, or by clicking View All Activities in the Quick Eval widget on your Course Home.
- Hover your mouse over the activity you want to publish feedback for and click More Actions.
- Click Publish All.
Hide an Activity
If you do not want to see a particular assignment, quiz, or discussion on your Quick Eval widget and dashboard, you can dismiss that activity either indefinitely or until a specific date and time.
- Open the Quick Eval dashboard either by clicking Quick Eval on the navigation bar on My Home, or by clicking View All Activities in the Quick Eval widget on your Course Home.
- Hover your mouse over the activity you want to publish feedback for and click More Actions.
- Click Dismiss Until…
- Select from the three options:
- Next submission - this will hide the activity only until a new submission is made.
- A specific date - this will dismiss the activity until a date and time of your choice.
- Forever - this will dismiss the activity until you manually restore it.
- Click Dismiss Activity.
The activity will no longer appear in your Quick Eval dashboard or on the Quick Eval widget until any condition you placed on the dismissal is met or until you manually restore it.
Restore Hidden/Dismissed Activities
If you dismissed an activity from Quick Eval and want to return it to your view, you can do so at any time even if the conditions you placed on it when dismissing the activity have not been met.
- Open the Quick Eval dashboard either by clicking Quick Eval on the navigation bar on My Home, or by clicking View All Activities in the Quick Eval widget on your Course Home.
- Click the three dots in the upper right corner (just above the search).
- Select Dismissed Activities.
- You will see a pop-up with a list of all of the dismissed activities. Check the box next to the activity (or activities) you want to restore.
- Click Restore.
The activity will once again show up in your Quick Eval dashboard and on the Quick Eval widget.
