In VIULearn, when creating Discussion Forums or Topics, you can choose to allow anonymous posts. When anonymous posts are enabled at the Forum level, this will mean that every Discussion Topic within that Forum will allow users to post anonymously. When anonymous posts are enabled at the Topic level, this means that only that specific Discussion Topic will allow users to post anonymously.
When anonymous posts have been enabled in a Discussion Topic, users will be given the option if they would like to post anonymously. Anonymous Threads and Reply's will display with the author "Anonymous" in the post rather than with the user's name and you will not be able to see who created those posts or replies.
Enable Anonymous Posts on a Forum or Topic
- In the course navigation bar, select Communication. From the drop-down menu, select Discussions.
- Select the downward arrow next to the Discussion Forum or Topic in question. Select Edit Forum or Edit Topic from the drop-down menu.
Alternatively, if you are creating a new Discussion, select New and then New Forum or New Topic from the drop-down menu. Then, give your new Forum or Topic a name. - Scroll down to the Options heading. Click the checkbox next to Allow anonymous posts.
- Once you have finished editing, click the blue Save and Close button.
